The Dave Graffam models are excellent value for their prices, with high quality art and multiple designs for most sets, easily selectable from the PDF file viewer. So if you can find your way around Photoshop or similar, at least get a few core sets. I also made a bunch of middle eastern-style buildings without interiors by modifying the SwiftScenics system, and added TLX stairs with custom textures. For example, I made a TLX-style barn by putting the textures from Dave Graffam's barn building into my TLX template. I have made templates of their SwiftScenics and TLX systema (the TLX stairs are the best of all paper model suppliers!) and created tons new elements with them, sometimes even using textures from other manufactuers. The best thing about WWG, however, is that it offers extreme adaptability if you want to create or modify models. It's theoretically possible to build buildings with multiple stories and lift them up when players enter, but in reality I found that it's just not stable enough if a floor has more than one room.įor games that don't have characters entering buildings, the SwiftScenics line is an excellent choice. and it takes a long time to assemble a whole table. The anchorpoints on the tiles detract from the overall visual quality and larger structures can be very unstable. However, for my tastes it has some serious drawbacks. You end up putting a lot of time into it but you get amazing results and a very flexible system with TerrainLinX. WWG is on the high-end spectrum in regards to both visual quality and complexity. I have an extensive collection of WWG sets and a couple of small models from Dave Graffam. they are very time consuming and labour intensive to make. Obviously, if you want interior detail that will be a lot more time consuming. They can be built with or without interiors and furnishing. WWG gives you loads more choice of buildings, especially if you want contemporary undamaged buildings. I use both and both have their pros and cons. Quote from: Vampifan on March 23, 2017, 12:13:47 PM Hi, Gary. But don't dismiss WWG or indeed Stoelzel's Structures who offer a similar product to WWG but which are meant to be reinforced with foam-board. Of the two, I would favour Battle Systems. It is perfectly feasible to do as I do and mix and match both. So they have a more down-trodden and grungy look to them. The only drawback I can see with their models is that they are designed for a post-apocalyptic world. They also come with interior detail and furnishing. they are very time consuming and labour intensive to make.īattle Systems on the other hand is very quick to build (mere minutes) and can be just as easily disassembled, making it ideal if storage space is an issue.
